Tin Coatings and Finishes Explained
2026-06-12
The coating inside and outside a tin determines both its safety and its look and feel.
Interior coatings are about safety. Food-grade lacquers form a barrier between the metal and the product, preventing reaction and preserving taste. We use FDA-compliant linings on all food-contact tins.
Exterior finishes are about branding. Gloss varnish makes colors pop, while matte gives a soft, modern feel. Embossing raises your logo or pattern off the surface for a tactile, high-end effect.
Special effects like spot UV can highlight a logo with a shiny accent against a matte background. These details cost little but dramatically change perceived quality.
If you are unsure which finish fits your brand, we can send physical finish samples so you can see and feel the difference before committing.
